I am over the moon with iPhoto for the iPad and photo stream. Why? Because I can create these amazing photo journals. Here is the photo journal for Es and Phil’s kiwi wedding.

The urls to the journals are a little nuts and I’m thinking of ways I can incorporate them into our site more. Anyway I am a fan.

A somewhat turbulent ride into Hong Kong with a lightning storm to boot. Now a three hour layover until our ride to London.

Goodbye Brisbane. Thanks for the quick stay. It’s time to go home. It is funny putting your hand in your pocket for change and not being sure what currency you will pull out. Back to pence and pounds.

The world needs more waistcoats

I love my suit.  But can’t wear it quite as well as Tim.

Can there be anywhere more beautiful?

Our time overseas is coming to an end.  I am sure there are more beautiful places in the world than Queenstown, New Zealand.  I just haven’t found them yet.  Queenstown is a magic place, and we were blessed with phenomenal weather.  Above is the view from the lounge room of where we were staying.  Amazing…

There comes a time in every man’s life when it is required of him to buy a suit.  I’m 32.  I’ve avoided this long enough. With two family weddings not far away it was time. Time is was.

Living in London indeed lends itself to suit shopping.  So I took the number 3 bus to Oxford Street and marched myself into a suit store called Moss.  I had a ball.  They tried on 6 or 7 suits and they tried to sell me ALL of them.  I bought two.  Did I need two? No. They were persuasive.  Very.

This first – pictured above – I bought as a three piece.  It is a dark grey suit.  It reeks of awesomeness.  The second is a navy suit.  It is almost as awesome. See Below:

One thing I seem to do is collect books. Not the e-variety (though I do read them) but the paper variety and the older and rarer the better. Sadly I collect more than I am capable of reading. But one I was very glad to find was a 1960s edition of Ian Flemming’s Casino Royale. I absolutely adored the film and was keen to see how much of the film was faithful to the book (if any). After all Casio was Flemming’s first ever book and the movie was released in 2006. I was expecting that they would share nothing more than the title – think the Borne series.

I couldn’t have been more surprised. The characters were preserved exactly with a very dark and brooding Bond. The original story was placed soon after WWII in France, unlike the modern take, but the film was true to the book. I was even surprised that the torture scene (you know… with the chair…) is straight out of the mind of Flemming.

In fact I dare say it is one of the better film adaptations of a book that I’ve seen.

The picture is today’s modern mi6 build at Vauxhall. I see it most mornings when I take the train.
